The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
