Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent defended four early opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
